The cruet and cups with maker's mark "TC" standing for Tuck Chang who was active between the late 19th century and early 20th century in Shanghai. Condition: few traces of usage, few wear to gilding. A draping curtain of dark torn Bizen clay folds over the enigmatic form of this vase by Kaneshige Kosuke enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Texture varies from chattered extrusion to long, combed lines. Soft shades of color glow on the sides of the dark clay. A very finely painted Chinese blue and white vase painted in late 17th Century 'Transitional' style. The base carries the four character mark of the Kangxi emperor but this item was made later during the 19th Century.
