A Chinese export porcelain barrel-shaped spirit bottle with cylindrical spout, dating from the Kangxi period (1662-1722), decorated with scrolling chrysanthemum and foliage in underglaze blue. Base with chatter marks. Condition: some firing faults: spout area, rim frits, foot area with missing glaze caused by bubble bursts. Dimension: 14.8 cm high. Its front features two doors on iron hinges, with iron fan shaped corner hardware and locks. Many drawers of varying size and handle styles sit within. Dragon's Pearl
A large and finely worked, root sculpture depicting a pair of birds (male and female pheasants?) on a tree trunk. The sculpture is partly natural and partly worked with a deep honey-colored hue and very nice details. Both birds are attached to the tree trunk by small pegs emulating their legs (one original peg replaced). Meiji, 19th cent. H 61.5 cm. Condition: Very good (one or two twigs may be broken on the male bird).

The central medallion decorated with pair of lions playing with pearls (?), beige on red ground; borders with stylized dragons, red and blue on beige borders.
