A nice small pair of light celadon Vietnamese two handled jarlets which we believe date to the 15th-16th century. The glaze ends about two thirds of the way down each jarlet and the rest of the base is unglazed. One of the jarlets has vertical stripes made by the potter using a finger to scrape down the piece and leave these stripes.
One jar is 2 1//2 high and 2 ½ diameter at the waist the other is 2 5/8 high and 2 7/8 diameter at the waist. They are in excellent condition.
A hand thrown pottery cup with a crackle celadon glaze both inside the cup and on the outside almost to the foot. The cup has vertical ribs that were clearly formed by the potters finger. The cup measures 2 1/8 high by 2 diameter at the top. It is in excellent condition there is a small chip on the base which obviously occurred during the firing or during the process of the potter string cutting the cup from the kiln base it has been filled by a spot of the same pottery. ... A green glazed pumpkin form teapot, with a dragon head as the spout, a small bird as the 'handle', and lotus petal pattern around the rim. From Vietnam, it is in good condition, with minor losses, wear to glaze, and dirt residue. A simple lid of similar color and period, but lesser quality, comes with if desired. Approximately 10 cm in height, 18.5 cm from the tip of the dragon's nose to the tip of the bird's tail.
Ensemble of 5 late Ban Chiang Culture, circa 200 CE, clay rollers and seals. The function of these items is note understood although it is theorized, that they were either personal seals or used to impress designs onto pottery- an intriguing little set! Very rare large Buddhist impressed votive plaque with the Buddha flanked by stupa images and Nagari script beneath him. This piece is from the Burmese Pagan kingdom, generally considered the classical era of Burmese Buddhist art and architecture, circa 11th CE 12th CE.
