This is a museum quality takja (etagere) but it is missing some strips of bamboo, and that is reflected in a price that is very low for such a rare and fine piece. The missing bamboo can be replaced with matching strips. We do not restore or refinish any of the furniture that we sale, so we leave it up to our clients to decide if they want to do it. 19th Century Korean Metal Flask with Skillfully and Delightfully Rendered Etching of a dragon flying through the air and chasing the magic pearl of immortality, a rooster (a traditional and ancient guardian figure), a pair of fish (symbol of eternal love and vigilance), a crane (symbol of longevity), lotus blossom (symbol of purity and rebirth), and other mythical and fantastic creatures. A rare and beautiful example of Korean Joseon Dynasty artistry and craftsmanship. 5 inches (13 cm).

Koryo dynasty olive toned celadon bowl with a large, impressed peony decoration inside the bowl and incised fine line around the inside of the foliate rim. The body thinly potted but strong as in the manner of Chinese Yingqing wares of the same period. Perhaps slightly more stout than Yingqing wares, it emits a similar resonance when lightly tapped. 12th Century. The cavetto with inlaid white slip decoration including ornamental band inside the rim and four strawberry sprays surrounding centered chrysanthemum flowerhead within double ring. The exterior with white and black slip inlaid decoration of two graduated bands of chrysanthemum roundels within double rings.
