A set of 3 woodblock printed books," Hamon-shu", is a collection of the different types of waves by Yuzan Mori, published by Unsodo of Kyoto and dated Showa 55 (1980). This set originally was published in Meiji 36 (1903) to use as reference book for kimono patterns and other various styles of dyeing. These 3 books have nothing but waves, so they are perfect to use as design reference tools.
First book and second book have 25 and the third book has 26 pages including a few indexes.

This is a woodblock print book ,Bairei Hyakucho Gafu ,(One Hundred Birds) dated Meiji 14 (1881) by Bairei Kono.This book originally came in a set of 4 books and this is one of them called "Chi". Bairei (1844 - 1895) was Japanese painter, book illustrator and art teacher. He was born (as Yasuda Bairei) and lived in Kyoto and was a member of the Ukiyo-e school.
His work included flower and bird prints and landscapes with a touch of western realism.

This is a set of 4 woodblock print books about bamboo dated Taisho 9 (1920).They are called Bokuchiku Hatsumo (Chinese techniques of drawing bamboo by ink) drawn by Umpo Kan or Ken Ken Sai.Originally, they were printed during Edo.
It shows different ways of bamboo leaves depending on weather, age , order,angles adn style and shape of bamboo. It comes with a thick paper enclosure which is quite worn and shows some slight damage.

This is a set of 4 books titled " Keinen Kacho Gafu " by the artist Keinen Imao (1845 - 1924).
He was born into a Yuzen dying family , of the name Isaburo.
He studied Ukiyo-e from Yokuo Umegawa and in 1873 became a student of Hyakunen Suzuki ( Famous Kyoto Painter ). He became Teikoku Bijyutsuin Kanin ( Member of the Imperial Art Academy ) in the year 1919. During Meiji 24(1891), he published Keinen Kacho Gafu and has received awards in America for his vivid and realistic flower and bird pain... Click for details
