Here is a set of five Mishima style kumidashi tea cups by Izu-based Karatsu potter Nakatsuka Takaya. Nakatsuka fires all his work in a large noborigama chambered climbing kiln and was one of the first potters we featured in our gallery almost ten years ago. Wonderful for serving guests green tea, each in perfect condition, 6cm.tallx9.2,each signed on base,cardboard box.

Yamada Hikaru (1924-2001) was a founding member of the extremely influential avant-garde ceramic group Sodeisha along with Yagi Kazuo and Suzuki Osamu in the late 1940s.
