This is a hexagonal shaped tea caddy dating from the early 20th century – probably from about 1915-1940. The piece has an incised design of a Japanese woman washing out a scarf in a stream. Two of the smaller sides have designs of flowers blooming from under a rock. The remaining four sides have calligraphy which we believe are a poem – not translated.
