Kato still fires the old-fashioned way in a wood-burning kiln and that makes him one of very few these days who does so; this type of firing brings out a much warmer and richer tone to the glazing. This Shino chawan is a masterpiece of contemporary Shino; notice the form, glazing and the especially the foot-kodai. In perfect condition with a signed box, 8.5cm.tallx13.5-9., signed on base.
