DESCRIPTION: A Japanese kozuka crafted from a brown shibuichi alloy (silver and copper), the design incorporating kata-kiri-bori engraving and inlaid gold, silver, and shakudo (gold and copper alloy) in high relief depicting an egret and a bulbul bird perched on a riverside branch gazing at the moon. Unsigned, very good quality and condition, c. 1770 – 1820. DIMENSIONS: 4" long (10 cm).

The size of Tsuba: 2 3/4" L x 2 9/16" W x 3/16" Thick. Very unusual Japanese Iron Tsuba, Sword Guard. Tsuba has carved(engraved) design of double dragon on both side. 1.5 mm deep. It is very unusual dragon design. Dragon body has silver applied and gold applied(inlaid) on the dragon head. One side of inlaid has been worn except dragon head area.
