An Edo period suit of raw iron with all matching parts, featuring 16 plate helmet with two lame shikoro and large fukigaeshi. The mask is fantastic, a real stunner with dramatic features and a large mustache. It has five plate sode and a go-mai-do cuirass of five iron plates, with kusazuri of leather scales. A partially restored mid Edo period Go-Mai-Do Gusoku of riveted iron bands bordered with leather on top. A very impressive looking suit, it features a six plate suji kabuto with matching leather on the fukigaeshi underlying a lightning bolt crest. The Shikoro, laced with regal red, is also bound to the helmet bowl with lightning bolt shaped pins and the crest is duplicated on the kanamono on back of the helmet and retains the original liner. A late Edo period Ni-Mai Hotoke-do Gusoku of black textured lacquer laced with regal purple chord. The helmet is an 8 plate kabuto of tataki-nuri textured red/brown lacquer with a five lame Shikoro. A powerful Kon-odoshi Go-Mai-Do Gusoku embellished throughout with matching crests of bound wheat. The helmet is a tetsuji raw iron 32 plate kabuto with brass piping surrounding the Mabizashi and fukigaeshi. The Bound-wheat mon is figured on the fukigaeshi and it features a five lame wide banded Shikoro. A very rare find indeed, two early to mid Edo period matching Kashi-gusoku Yoroi from the same armory featuring Momonari Kabuto and Hotoke-Ni-Mai Do decorated with jagged bands of gold. A very impressive set. The sleeves are patterned blue and white hemp. The thumb on one sleeve is missing and the two hinge pins. There are broken strings and damage to the lacquer consistent with age and the fact this armor was handed out to soldiers, likely often for guard duties and escorts, and so did see ... A gorgeous Later Edo period black lacquered battle armor featuring a large red crest of three linked hexagons on the chest-plate, and a single red hexagon on the helmet. The suit consists of a Zunari-kabuto with three tiered Shikoro, the lower two tiers of which are lacquered in a lightly brown color. The mask is a wide jawed hanpo with four tier throat defense.
