Black lacquer laced with white leather makes for a striking presentation om this all matching collapsible armor dating from the Edo period. The helmet is a chochin kabuto with original locking bar. It features a hanpo mask and Do of rectangular plates with a belt of Kusazuri hanging from loops at the waist. This is a yebira or quiver of woven, lacquered bamboo with zigzag
design constructed to hold arrows for battle or sport and worn by the
samurai slung over the shoulder. This fine example is in very good
condition for its age and use. (Arrows not original).

This is a superb oval sentoku tsuba worked in an elaborate sukashi design.
On its
front surface, sennin Chokwaro leisurely sits beside his horse after
summoning the creature from his double gourd, a powerful, gnarled pine
tree providing shelter after his tiring journey. The scene is
brilliantly designed in gilt and takazogan with the pierced

This is a kozuka knife and kogai matched set in its silk-lined wooden
tomobako.
The kozuka handle is of shakudo with its focus a nunome ikebana
arrangement
modeled in silver and gold and centered on a fine nanako ground. The shakudo
kogai on its nanako ground is also designed with a matching, opulent flower
arrangement. This boxed set is in excellent condition with no loss, damage or restoration.

This is a pair of exquisitely crafted fuchi kashira worked in partly
hammered copper, gilt and shakudo. On its small surfaces, the set
shows
members of The Seven Gods of Fortune finely executed in low relief.
On the fuchi, Daikoku, with his characteristic mirthful expression holds a
mallet executed in finely incised
details and low relief. On the kashira, Hotei rests upon his treasure
sack while Shoki, the demon queller, appears under pine tree, all
deeply carved.
