A set of ten hand-painted erotic images enclosed in a cloth bound album dating from the late Edo or very early Meiji period.  Each scene is performed in typical Ukiyoe style with pigment on age-greyed paper.  Each page is 6 x 91/2 inches (15 x 24 cm).  There is some staining, toning and marks typical of age.  See photos for more details.  Pillow books such as these were quite common in Japan, and were often given as wedding gifts by relatives to assist the new couple.
