DESCRIPTION: An appealing Japanese ivory netsuke of a seated oni with one leg extended and holding an open book inscribed with tiny readable characters. Nicely carved with horns, fur and hairy britches, this comical little demon dates from the Meiji Period (1868 – 1912), and can sit like an okimono for display. Very good condition with no chips or repairs. DIMENSIONS: 2 ½” long (6.4 cm) x 1 ¼” high (3.2 cm).

Approximately 18th to 19th century, leather tobacco pouch with gold metal button, carved ivory Kiseru Case, and Ojime. Kiseru case is exquisitely carved in the motif of Daikoku god and Ebisu god fighting to the Demon. It has sign by an artist. This is highly recommended fine example of Tobacco pouch. It is very good in condition with fine patina.
