A very large antique Japanese bronze palace vase with fun handles. Good floral and bird details on each section. Nice trumpet form at the top. Was used as a lamp, but no bottom hole. Good condition, a couple of inevitable small dings not visibly detracting (see picture).

Japanese bronze hibachi or censer with a copper colored patina densely decorated in relief with two opposing panels featuring Chinese scholars and an old man and child in a pine grove. Lion head relief handles at the sides. Late Meiji Period (circa 1900). 7"H x 7 1/4" diameter. Excellent overall condition with a nice patina.

Japanese round-form bronze kagami (mirror) decorated in relief with a motif of cranes among pines. A large bronze vase on rosewood stand featuring a dragon rising into three dimensional form from the murky surface; signed on the base Shinsui. The fearsome creature appears like a wraith, points of its armored body writhing through the dark patina. A deep and mournful sound emanates from this ancient Temple bell from Zennoji temple dated the 20th day, fourth month of 1686. One panel is inscribed Humbly presented, Shokakuzan Zenno Zen-Temple treasure, For the Nyodendoshi-Mujo Bosatsu Buddha. It is further inscribed Donated by Harada Shitaro of Saijo Village for the priest Jusanzoshu.
