Japanese Lacquered Reed Kimono Tray with black and gold lacquer trim, 26" wide, 16" deep, 4 high, circa before 1940. Gold paintings on Black lacquer is 3/4" high and almost 1/2" wide, over the Chestnut color lacquered Reed basket. It is very rich chestnut color Reed, finished with high quality gold lacquer design on black lacquered trim. There are many missing lacquer finish on Reed basket area and cracks on black lacquer trim.

A 19th century Japanese kyodai (mirror stand) comprised of the stand on two drawer chest. Decorated with gold hiramaki-e and nashiji lacquer techniques depicting pines, prunus and grasses in rocky landscape. The prunus blossoms rendered in oxidized silver haku-e with gold details.
