Antique Japanese 2-section curio cabinet, ornately carved with phoenixes and flowers, 6 shelves of various sizes, one compartment with door decorated with carved and inlaid ivory scene of small bird in tall grasses hunting insect with unusual blue lacquer ground. Below are two drawers also with carved and inlaid ivory flowers on blue ground. Meiji Period (1868-1912). Size: 62" high x 35" wide x 16 1/2" deep.

Antique Japanese 2 section Soma isho tansu from the Fukushima area, beautiful keyaki (elm) wood on front, sugi (cryptomeria) wood frame, deep red translucent lacquer finish, iron hardware with incised warabite shaped drawer pulls and very large round chrysanthemum shaped lock plates, safe box in lower right hand corner with 2 small interior drawers, safe box has key, Meiji Period (1868-1912). Kiri wood two section tansu with original grey finish. Working locks with key for drawers and doors. The locks are round and have a sliding cover. The handles on the doors have a leaf design. The drawers have rounded handles. Taisho period, circa 1920. It measures 64" tall, 16" deep, 50" wide.

Antique Japanese isho tansu (clothing chest) in two sections. The top section has sliding panels made of chestnut and keyaki burl under which is a series of 5 drawers (3 small and 2 medium sized). The bottom section 3 large drawers, 2 medium sized drawers on the left side and 3 small drawers on the lower right side. Beautiful persimmon wood three section tansu from the taisho period (1912-1926). There are three sliding drawers in the middle section, 1" deep. The upper cabinet has two sections. One section has tiered shelves with a small drawer. The other section is open. The sliding doors are covered with a champagne colored flower patterned fabric. It measures 46.5" wide by 16" deep by 59.125" tall.
