Japanese antique katana tansu (sword chest), made with kiri (paulownia) wood drawer fronts and sugi (cryptomeria) wood frame, 4 drawers of various sizes: 2 long drawers, 1 medium, and 1 small drawer, heavy iron hardware including side handles, corner bracing, square shaped lock plates, and warabite shaped drawer pulls, Meiji Period (1868-1912).

Beautiful Japanese antique single section mizuya tansu (kitchen chest), dramatic keyaki (elm) burl wood panels, 3 compartments with sliding panels, middle panels have intricate star pattern lattice work in wood, below are 6 drawers of various sizes, iron hardware, deep brown translucent lacquer finish, sides and top are slightly darker in color, Meiji Period (1868-1912).
