A fine Japanese standard cloisonné vase with a design of a crane walking next to a large bamboo stalk with many branches and leaves. Dark turquoise ground is rather rare – unsigned – excellent condition with no chips or hairlines. Dates from the Golden Age of Japanese Cloisonne, 1880-1895. Measures 3 1/2" high and is 2" diameter at the shoulder.

Each vase has a floral scene outlined in delicate silver wire of red daisies and white mums on long leafy stems in a mirror image of each other. Meiji Period, unsigned, with wood stands included. Each vase has three white cranes with grey tail feathers and feet in a mirror image of each other, outlined in delicate silver wire. The vases have a fine mirror-like finish with silver rims. An early Japanese cloisonne vase with a design of a fierce blue and white dragon encircling the vase. We can date this piece to the early Meiji period, circa 1870s because of the tight cells (cloisons) that are used to keep the ground in place and because there is one band of gin bari blue at the top of the vase - one of the earliest uses of the gin bari technique. A handsome large cloisonné vase by the Ando company – we date this piece to the Showa period, circa 1950-1980. The vase size is 10" tall and is 5" diameter at its widest. inches. The Ando mark is on the bottom of the vase. The wooden box and stand come with the vase. This is a rare shape for and Ando vase. Nice color - a lush turquoise. Looks like Gold wire is used for Mark and also design. Perfect Condition – what appears to be a hairline in photo number three is a reflection.
