It is rare to find Japanese cloisonné pieces in a solid monochrome color with no other decorations. Here we have a lovely cardinal red cloisonné vase that is only the one color. The vase is signed on the base by a noted cloisonné artist named Hayakawa Komejiro – see Coben and Ferster book “Japanese Cloisonné” – signature number 12.

This is stunning example of Japanese cloisonné work dating from the Golden Age of Japanese cloisonné – 1880s-1910, Meiji period. The vase is completely covered with flowers and leaves in violet, pink, lavender and royal blue – all surrounded by dark green leaves. The only area that has no flowers is the narrow neck where the underlying turquoise blue ground comes through. The vase measures 5” tall and is 3 3/8” diameter at the widest part of the body. The vase is in excellent condition – we can ... Click for details

This is a very fine Japanese Cloisonne box. We were told by one of the previous owners that it came from the 1903 World's Fair that was held in St Louis. The box has impeccable enameling and workmanship. It is signed on the bottom Hayashi Tanigoro. A similar box by this same artist, that is not nearly as nice, is being featured at a major auction. The box is larger than most being 5 7/8 inches across and 2 1/2 inches tall. Condition is outstanding.

This is a fine Japanese Ginbari Cloisonne vase decorated Iris's and a single large moriage enamel Iris. The moriage enamel is quite heavy or thick. There is a bit of damage but as it can bee seen in the images, the vase still displays well. The vase measures 4 7/8 inches tall. It is signed but we are not sure of the artist. It looks similar to a Hayashi Hachizoemon mark.
