A fine cloisonné vase of baluster form with two lotus-formed handles executed in moriage. A grayish-blue enameled ground serves as the backdrop for a brilliant ho-o bird-in-flight, its body wired with a myriad of jewel-like, colored enamels. Stylized flowers and foliage rise from the foot.
This silver-mounted vase has the great Hayashi Tanigoro silver-wired signature mark on the base. It is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration.
