This is a lovely Japanese cloisonne vase with a large group of flowers and green leaves. Some of the leaves look like lotus leaves to us – but the flowers do not appear to be lotus flowers. Not being a gardener, I cannot identify the flowers except to say that are quite beautiful with the dark green leaves all set over a peach pink background. The vase measures 8” high and is 3 ½” diameter at the shoulder. It is in excellent condition with no chips, hairlines or restoration. It is not signed. We... Click for details

This is an early Meiji Japanese footed sake cup washer done allover in early Japanese cloisonne standard technique. We date it to the period of 1870-1890 as that was when these more pitted examples of Japan were the standard before they learned how to refine their pieces with high polish and large areas of open space background. This bowl has a central reserve of the long feathery tailed turtle know as a Minogame and is surrounded by many intricate geometric figures and stylized flowers and vine... Click for details
