sold, thank you

A fine modern Akahada ceramic okimono in the form of a two tiered Pagoda in the original box signed by Onishi Rakusai (1911-present). Each of the three pieces in this sculpture is made of very fine white clay covered in pale green glaze, which gathers shadow-like in the grooves and accentuates the corners. The underside is stamped Akahada Rakusai and the piece likely dates from within the last 30 years. Assembled it stands 10-1/2 inches (26.5 cm) to the peak. I have spoken with the kiln rega... It was made by Seto veteran ceramic artist Masuda Shigeyuki(1927-) and he's been making figures for decades. He started his career in 1952 and has exhibited all over Japan as well as creating some works at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. last year. This Daruma is in perfect condition with a signed box and is quite ... Click for details
