This is a wonderful Japanese Porcelain vase by Nishiura Enji. His works are in museums and are also shown the khalili collection. At first glance the vase looks like the work of Makuzu Kozan. The vase colorful and is very finely painted. The vase stands 5 inches tall. Condition is excellent. There is a 1 inch factory craze line in the outer glaze. If I did not mention it you would probably never see it.

lovely piece of simple beauty, this bowl is a testament to the great
Makazu Kozan's genius. Kozan's underglaze blue signature can be found on the base. ... Click for details

Blue and white waves crash in a colorful band surrounding the black body of this unusual vase by Miyagawa Kozan II. Frolicking in the tempest are large carp. Beasts clench ring handles in their jaws at the shoulder. The vase is 9 inches (23 cm) tall, 7 inches (18 cm) diameter and in perfect condition. The name Kozan was granted by Prince Yasui-no-Miya in 1851 in honor of the tea ware produced during the later Edo for the imperial Court by the tenth generation head of the Kyoto pottery family...
