This is a very attractive small vase from Fukagawa. From the signature it was probably made in the 1920’s. There are some very fine details on this 5 by 5 inch vase. The vase looks fine but there is a short line on the rim seen in the 4th image and a strange pit or bubble that can be seen in the last image.

The vase colorful and is very finely painted. The vase stands 5 inches tall. Condition is excellent. There is a 1 inch factory craze line in the outer glaze. If I did not mention it you would probably never see it.

This is a nice little white porcelain koro - incense burner - from the Arita area. The koro has three shi shi on it - two for handles and one on the lid for a finial. The tripod feet look like softly molded animal heads.

One of the interesting aspects of the piece is the opening in the shape of a circle with a cross in the middle. That i... Click for details

We date it to the 18th century of the Edo period.
