A Satsuma ewer of majestic form brilliantly brocaded at foot, spout and lid with fascinating scenes of a fox wedding and human activities. Noh masks, fox courtiers and participants of the fox wedding processional surround cartouches with courtly figures - all described with a sensitive palette. Meizan gilt signature on base. A rare, vitreous porcelain incense burner on self-stand, its cover reticulated in geometric and diamond patterns overall. Rondels of swirling dragons and majestic ho-o detailed in colored enamels and gilt are positioned equi-distant along the body,the stand modeled on four foliate feet. The size of Bowl: 6 5/8" Dia x 1 1/2" High. Beautiful and Fine quality Japanese Kouki Nabeshima Porcelain Bowl. The bowl is made from very fine quality porcelain with fine glazing. The bowl is done in Yokoku (relief) work in the design of clouds. The center has the double dragons, one facing and other one facing backward. It is painted very nicely in Sometsuke(blue underglaze). This is a great Japanese Arita plate in Shonsui-style to help celebrate the new Year of the Tiger. On the front of the plate are the twelve animals that make up the Chinese New Year zodiac. The size of vase: 2 15/16" Dia x 3 1/2" High. Made by Makuzu Kozan. The vase was made at Yokohama. The vase with Qing dynasty style Shishayu(copper red underglaze). It has four Shinshayu design of Suzumushi. Suzumushi (Homoeogryllus japonicus) is the Japanese name for the bell cricket, also known as the bell-ring cricket'. It is known particularly for its song.
