The size of Kiseru-Zutsu: 7 1/2"L x 1" W x 7/8" H. This is very fine rare Japanese Antique Staghorn carving design Kiseruzuutsu. Two Foo Dogs with Pine tree flower and water fall scenery in three dimensional. Carving taking the 3/4 space of whole staghorn area which leave only 1/4 area on the back. Well deep carving as you can see from the close up photo. It is signed by "HIDEYUKI" artist(carver). Kiseru-Zutsu also called Kiseru-Ire. It has a hole for string going thru.(Himo-doshi). Antique Japanese kanzashi, hair comb, hand carved on tortoiseshell with a rooster on a drum surrounded by auspicious flowers. The design comes from an ancient Chinese poem that describes the era that was ruled by Emperor Yao who was known for his wisdom and fairness. The poem reads, “The drum for raising alarms is now covered in deep moss, and the fowls are left undisturbed”. A long bamboo incense case with dark wood lid carved exquisitely with blossoming lotus and calligraphy. The deteriorating leaves rise from the bottom, blossoms spreading their petals to the sun. Above three lines of calligraphy descend to meet like the squirreling rays of late summer light. The size of Box: 3 1/4" Long x 2 3/4" Wide x 2 1/4" High (top of handle/folded down.) Beautiful Bekko(turtoise shell) three layers box. It had two snaps front and back. It will open the top layer by just lift the cover. Other layers will be opened by accordion type mechanically open as one of photo showing. I never seen like this kind box. Small reliquary, in the shape of a five-element stupa, gorinto, made of rock crystal. The stupa is built according to the Five Elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether). The base is octagonal in shape (which may be square, as well), as is the bottom part of the cover (which may be triangular, as well). The turret of a lonely outpost rises from the mountain peak formed by this small Japanese scholar rock set into a hand carved wooden base and enclosed in a wooden box titled Ko jinkaku (Small Armored Tower). The stone is 7 inches (18 cm) tall, 5 x 3 inches (13 x 8 cm). It likely was put together in the early 20th century.
