Details: A cute example of a miniature bronze figure of Ganesha and Lakskmi from Southern India. The son of Shiva and Parvati, Ganesha the Hindu god of knowledge and the remover of obstacles is seated below an ornate mandorla upon a circular cushion atop a square base accompanied by one of his various consorts perched on his left knee, in this case Lakskmi, here identified by the lotus in her left hand.
Details: A charming sandstone example of an 11th century torso of the Brahmin dwarf Vamana probably from Madhya Pradesh. He is adorned with multiple necklaces covering his ample chest where a srivatsa is carved in relief between his shapely pectoral muscles. His sacred Brahmin thread rests across his beautifully defined pot belly, which is hanging over his diaphanous dhoti decorated with a classically beaded apron.
Details: A very cute and tactile example of a 2nd to 3rd century green schist reliquary casket from Gandhara. The spherical casket has two delicately incised concentric lines on both the top and bottom typical of Gandharan reliquaries and is topped by a pistil shaped knob. The casket contains three relics, a bronze coin and two glass items, one of which shows the ancient auspicious symbol of the swastika.
This large bronze figure of Tara on a double lotus base is seated in lalitasana with one hand raised in vitarka mudra. She is also holding lotus stalks in each hand that flank her shoulders.
It measures 15 inches tall by about 12 inches wide by 9 inches in depth (at it's widest point).

Details: A very graceful and classically indic 10th century buff sandstone image of the Hindu sun god Surya from Madhya Pradesh in Central India. The sun god is adorned with heavy elaborate beaded jewelry and is wearing a tall intricate and finely carved headdress. In his one remaining hand he is holding one of his attributes a beautiful lotus, which he would have originally held in both his hands.
Antique Indian white marble figure of Garuda in youthful human form, cobras wrapped around neck, shoulders, arms and encircling his head like a crown, hands clasped over the head of a giant cobra, losses of wings and lower portion of body, 16th/17th century.
