Mahamayuri (the great daughter of the peacock) is one of the Maharaksas (protective goddesses). She is the female emanation of Amoghasiddhi. The Mahamayuri vidyarajni is dedicated to her (the realisation of enlightment within this lifetime through the great seal, embodied by the female wisdom aspect - Kagyu tradition). Tibet, 18/19th.century. Sealed and in very good condition. Height 30 cm. 21 cm. wide and 11 cm. deep.

Rare and beautiful statue of of the fully enlightened Buddha Namasangiti, a principal form of Manjushri. He has twelve arms. The hands against his breast - vyakara mudra. The second pair (tarpana mudra)is sprinkling the ambrosia (amrita) contained in the bowl in his lap. In the other hands: sword, bow, arrow.
