Indian Archer Thumb Ring Zihgir India, 19th - 20th century. The ring is made in the 16th -17th century classical Mughal form, carved of a veined green Nephrite Jade, inlaid with metal wire and set with 8 cabochons and 3 small, oval, red and green jewels.

MEASUREMENTS: Overall length 4.5 cm (1.77 inches). The inner ring diameter is around 2.2 cm (0.87 inches).

CONDITION: The Jade has its natural imperfections (inclusions).

This is an extremely special and valuable statue, unlike any other I have ever listed. No other of this size has sold at Sotheby's or Christie's since they began putting results on their sites. Height is 20.5" tall (bronze total), 21.5" tall with its custom base, 14" (actual figure), 13.25" (widest point at the base) and 6" (width at hands)...

Superb post-Gupta near-life-size 5-7th century stone head from a high-level collector who donated much of his collection to the Cleveland Museum of Art in the 1980s. He did not have a paper trail that permitted him to donate this piece in the same tax credit as the others, so I was able to purchase it in the early 1990s along with another remarkable stone piece. Shows expectable wear, but this only enhances his expressiveness and beauty...
