The stones are of exceptional quality- much higher than typically found on the square copper Nepalese plaques (usually 20th century) that are covered with semi-precious stones. 19th Century Tibetan Yogin Thangka, 32.5 x 22.5 inches, 82.5 x 57 cm. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum.
Two very well-painted miniature Tibetan paintings on treated cloth (not paper). One wrathful, one tranquil. The larger of the two measures 3-1/4" X 4", while the smaller of the two, the wrathful one, measures 3-1/8" X 3-1/2". Minor rubbing, as seen in the photos. No retouching or repainting.
19th Century Nepalese Shaman Sculpture with traces of yellow and red pigment and an incredible, dense, dark patina. So thick and dark is the amazing patina that the necklace that covers the chest and back, and the carvings on the skirt, are barely visible. The hole on the bottom indicates that this was likely the handle of a dagger or staff. The old customs seal is also on the bottom. 8 inches, 20 cm. Very Good Condition.
A charming and very well-painted Nepalese drawing of Vishnu mounted on Garuda, following Krishna who is seated on a cloud. Worshippers attend them in this scene, set against a mountainous background with elephants and monstrous serpents beneath. Some soiling is present, as well as a small tear on the left margin and a small loss at the bottom right, all visible in the photographs. The painting is done on thickened paper and measures 9-1/4" X 12"...
A large and exceptionally well-painted 19th century painting on paper of Krishna in repose, attended by a group of courtly ladies. The piece measures some 14-3/4" X 12". Please examine the photos carefully, as the piece has sustained old insect damage and is somewhat rough around the edges. Notwithstanding, quite a beautiful and rare example.
An exceptionally detailed and elaborate cosmological painting showing Krishna in his heavenly palace, entertaining noble visitors, some of whom await entrance while mounted on an elephant, while below, presumed sinners are subjected to a gruesome array of tortures. In the upper left, one sees the (presumably) donor of the painting seated on a cloud above snow-capped mountains. Some soiling as well as very minor ancient insect damage...
A very well cast, intricate depiction of Kali, spouse of the God Shiva At her feet, a supplicant, possibly the donor who commissioned the bronze, together with a lion. Each of the figure's eighteen arms holds an attribute, with the sword and trident most prominent. Traces of ritual worship visible at the base (puja). The figure measures 5-1/4" in height and is in excellent condition.
19th Century Nepalese Butter Churn Handle. A fine piece of folk sculpture that is well patinated from considerable use. 10 inches, 25 cm. Very Good Condition.
19th Century Indian Processional Panel from Tamil Nadu in Southern India, 15.5 inches (39.5 cm) tall
This well-cast bronze depicts the baby Krishna as "the butterball thief," referencing an episode from his childhood. The piece is solid-cast and measures some 3" in length and 3-1/2" in height. Well cast with excellent details, especially the face and jewelry. Please see the photos.

Antique colonial Indian illustrations of the procession of Allah. Allah with his wife, Robers, tiger hunting, and other scenes and portraits. There are 12 illustrations all Hand painted and finely Detailed. They range in size from 4.75" by 4.25" to the largest 6.5" by 4.5". Early 19th century.
