Himalaya quartz carving of Jambhala, the deity of wealth in Tantric Buddhism. He holds a mongoose in his left hand, a fruit in his right and his right foot rests on a conch shell. AN OLD SILVER & ROCK CRYSTAL ARM BRACELET, INDIA, 18TH / 19TH CENTURY.

The bracelet consists of eleven pieces of facetted rock crystal set into silver mounts, the settings enclosed at the back in order to reflect the light. The stringing ends with gold wrapped thread and a slider to adjust the diameter.

I was told by the former owner that this is an 18th century piece but I am no expert, it is certainly old and so I think an 18th / 19th century attribution is fair...

Antique copper ritual crown, worn during ceremonies by a Vajracarya (Master of the thunderbolt), a high Buddhist priest. The crown is decorated by eight gilt copper Buddhist symbols and gilt copper figures of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas: Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitabha and Amogaghasiddhi. Very handsome GANDHARA stucco head sculpture of a young man, quite possibly of Alexander the Great. Stucco, good condition overall, some minor chips and part of back side missing as seen in photographs. Size: H. 1.5" (4 cm.). Rare. Here again, the idealized style is reminiscent of Greek Hellenistic sculpture which strongly influenced the Buddhist imagery of Central Asia and in particular of Gandharan artists.

Rare silver mounted boar's tusk opium pipe from the Himalayas in the Tibetan area. The bowl is in the form of a dragon's head with dark blue glass eyes and has a cover fashioned as the dragon's nose with a chain attached. Marked 925. This is real treasure for the collector and is in excellent working condition. Following the outer curve it measures 7.5 inches. Dates circa 1900.
