A truly world-class Tibetan bronze head of Cakrasamvara, recognizable by the crescent moon in the figure's headdress. The piece is cast, not repousse, and was silvered, as the photos will show. Later consecrations with "cold gold" gilding are also visible. An extraordinary well conceived sculpture, in outstanding, original condition. The only defect is the loss of a flame from one of the skulls adorning his crown. The piece measures just under 5" in height and sits on a custom base (included).
15th Century Gilded Tibetan Manuscript Cover. 28 x 11 inches.
This sculpture includes an inscription on the reverse and is dated to "1427 Samvat," a date that places the sculpture in the 15th century. The piece has sustained a loss to the "edging" along the top (viewer's) right,as well as a loss adjacent to the "canopy," visible in the photograph. The casting quality is, in my opinion, outstanding, completely consistent with the early Jain classical style of sculpture. The piece has a beautiful, warm brown patina. It measures 6-1/4" in height.
This very finely painted manuscript leaf measures 10-1/4" X 4-1/2" and is presented sandwiched between clear acid-free plastic so that both sides can be viewed. The piece is loose inside the frame and could easily be removed, should you wish. There is an old repair to the margin of the paper which does not impinge on the painted figures themselves. Also some very minor losses to the figures themselves, visible in the photos.

A 15thC large iron sculpture of Marici on her Boar. This is a rare Ming sculpture of a young maiden deity, with budding breasts and youthful face, sitting on her wonderful animated boar, which is filled with personality and delight. This creature has as much gentleness, kindness and friendliness in his face and body as I've ever seen in any sculpted metal animal of any kind...
17th Century Bhaisajyaguru Thangka. Antique Tibetan Thangka of the Medicine Buddha seated upon a lotus throne, holding the medicine bowl, and surrounded by Heavenly clouds and four Bodhisattva. Most of these thangka were photographed through glass frames, so there may be a little blurriness. This thankga was in an exhibition at the University of Texas Art Museum. Mineral pigments on silk. 16 x 12 inches, 40 x 30 cm.
This is a large, exceptionally well carved and beautiful Buddhist niche figure from Nepal, dating to the 17th century, possibly the early 18th, but no later than that. The carving measures 11-1/2" X 8" X 4". Deeply carved, as seen in the photos. A stable crack can be seen in the photos. The crack is 100% stable and virtually invisible when looking at the piece directly. It is, in my opinion, relatively unobtrusive, especially given the great beauty of the face itself...
This is an incredibly rare, large copper repousse yantra diagram from Nepal, dating to no later than the 17th century. The entire rim is engraved with a lengthy inscription (untranslated) which may well incorporate a date (?). Extensive devotional remains of puja worship are present together with traces of gilding and can be seen in the photos. An important Hindu relic, the plaque measures 16-1/2" x 13-1/2".
