A rare and very large 10/11thC Nagapattanamsam Bronze Buddha (near area and period of Chola in Southern India, though Buddhist rather than Hindu). This is an extremely special and valuable statue, unlike any other I have ever listed. No other of this size has sold at Sotheby's or Christie's since they began putting results on their sites. 10thC Nagapatanam India bronze Buddha. In a pristine condition that is supremely beautiful and masterfully sculpted. Being finely cast with an exquisite patina, this is a true masterpiece.
Measurements: 11 9/10" tall.
Provenance: Purchased at a California estate auction.

12thC Tibetan Buddha. GREAT face. Beautifully cast, with a superb face and wide protruding ears typical of the 12/13thC. The extremely wide base with the very fat lotus petals and the figure leaning far back are also correct for this early period...
A bronze statue of Goddess Annapurna seated on a round lotus throne holding a scepter. 14/15th Century, India. The base is square and has one corner missing, Statue shows prolonged Puja (worship to the object) and has a naturally formed patina. Size: 8x4x4 cm.

A finely, large 16/17thC Tibetan Bodhisattva of Compassion. Purchased from a collector located on the French Riviera. Size is 8 5/8" tall, 6.5" at widest point and 10.25" on its custom base. Casting is detailed and complex, with great attention to detail. Delicate and powerful, this is one of those exceptional pieces that truly radiates both artistic and spiritual light.
17th Century Bhaisajyaguru Thangka. Antique Tibetan Thangka of the Medicine Buddha seated upon a lotus throne, holding the medicine bowl, and surrounded by Heavenly clouds and four Bodhisattva.
