A Tibetan translation of the Diamond sutra. Written in gold ink in standing Tibetan writing (dbu-can). With two images on folio 1: Buddha Shakyamuni and the four-armed Bodhisattva of compassion, Shadaksarilokeshvara This sutra belongs to the Prajnaparamita literature and is one of the oldest Mahayana texts. It is a dialog between Buddha and his pupil Subhuti. The sutra consists of 50 folios with simple wood covers. In very good condition. Mongolia, 19th. century.

A combination of the high Himalayan climate and soot from yak butter lamps has the fortunate result of protecting colors on painted Tibetan furniture. The inside of this piece still retains the wonderful exotic odor of burning lamps...

This Ritual object is decorated with animals, red coral and turquoise. The dorje or vajra is carved Himalaya quartz. In very good condition. Height 18 cm. and 7.8 cm. wide.
