A large Hindu 12th Century stone fragment with Sanskrit inscription. Extremely heavy, displayed on a custom made iron stand.

Oval portrait of a young Indian woman, painted on paper in watercolor with white highlights. With velvet covered passe-partout and mounted behind glass in a later European frame. Signed "S.B. Rawoot" and dated 1/7/16 in red. Dimension: painting: c. 27.5 cm x 18.5 cm, frame 41.6 cm x 34.7 cm. Condition: slightly faded, frame with few traces of usage.
Statue of Bodhisattva Manjusri, the Budhist deity who fights ignorance, in formal attire, wearing diadem, sitting on a double lotus throne, his hands in teaching posture ("dharmachakra mudra"). Bronze, with remnants of the original lacquering and gilding. Tibet, 19th century. Height: 17.5 cm. Very good condition. Dramatic Indian stone carving fragment of the torso of Vamana,, the fifth avatar/incarnation of Vishnu. It has realistic hand-carved features with draped jewelry and fabric. Displayed on a custom made iron stand. Dates from the 12th century.

Shamanic ritual dagger with three deity heads on top, geometric design in relief in the middle and on the lower side the usual three blade tip with intricate geometric decoration surrounding the "makara" head. Wood, fine dark brown semi glossy patina. Red wax seal form the Nepalese Antiquities Department at the back of the blade. Nepal, 19th century. Obvious signs of wear due to age, otherwise very good condition. Collected in the mid 70s.

Statue of Bodhisattva Sadaksari Lokesvara, the four-armed deity seatd in "dhyanasana" on a double lotus throne, his principal arms in prayer posture ("anjali mudra"), the other hands wearing the rosary (""ashamala") on the right side and a lotus of absolute purity on the left side. His head is sumounted by a stylized bust of Buddha Amithaba. The deity is wearing diadem, jewels and dhoti. The statue is made of gilt copper with turquoise and coral inserts. Tibet, 16th century. A heavy cast, pear-shaped bronze or brass ewer standing on four feet. With straight spout and curved handle. The drop shaped, slightly raised medallions with incised floral spray. Condition: lower end of the handle lost, the lid seems to be a later replacement. Dimension: 29.3 cm high, from handle to spout: 29.5 cm.
Antique Tibetan vajrakila phurba, a Buddhist sacred dagger "believed to be capable of transmuting vice and egocentrism into benevolent compassion. According to legend, Padmasambava introduced the magic dagger to Tibet to subdue forces hostile to Buddhism." (Bonhams Auction Tues. June 28, 2016 page.14.) Made of iron and copper alloy.

A finely carved book cover/sutra-board (top) of middle size showing in the central, recessed tableaux the four-armed image of Mahaprajnaparamiti flanked by Sakyamuni on the right and Vairocana on the left. All three seated on elaborate thrones with detailed mandorlas topped by garudas. Surrounding them are numerous small images depicting buddhas, bodhisattvas, protectors, and lamas. A wooden carved Tibetan mask. The art of Tibetan masks can be classified into religious type and folk type. Exorcising masks were initially held to drive away ghosts and evil spirits. Later were used in local operas. Size: 27cm X 13cm.
Mirror finely cast in the shape of a flaming "triratna", its stand framed by two small "apsaras". Bronze, with nice green and red patina. Traces of "tika" on some areas. Nepal, 18th century. Height: 20 cm. Erosion due to age, otherwise very good condition.
