A Chinese silver presentation cup of European form, inscribed on the front, hallmarked on the base for Woshing, a maker who worked in Shanghai at the end of the 19th century and into the 20th. According to Alan James Marlowe in ‘Chinese Export Silver” Woshing’s surviving work is scarce.
5.5/8 inches (14.3cm) high. Basically in fine condition, signs of age of course but just needs a good polish.

A BOXED SET OF CHINESE SILVER FISH KNIVES & FORKS, TUCK CHANG, SHANGHAI, EARLY 20TH CENTURY.
Each knife and fork is of very high quality with hollow silver handles coverer overall with a hammered texture rather like fish skin. A very decorative silver easel depicting two confronting dragons contesting a flaming pearl. The ‘faux bamboo’ supports are crested with leaves. The back of the supports are stamped LW, the L with an exaggerated serif, possibly the mark of Luen Wo, recorded as working in Shanghai at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century.

This is a fun antique Chinese export silver war junk on a beautifully carved and fitted stand. The typical junk sails are textured in silver to resemble the real thing. The stiff sailors are dressed in the fancy uniforms of the 19th century Ch'ing (Qing) troops. There are cannons mounted on the bridge which is aft and very high normal for Chinese junks.
