Spectacular Chinese silk fan case of the late Qing, absolutely stunning condition and made of the finest kesi midnight blue silk and varying unique colors of purple and pink with a lighter shade of blue, exhibited here are two bats (notice the whiskers) among rolling clouds that form the rebus for good fortune or luck. A Mandarin square dating from the 19th century. Male back badge (buzi) with an appliqued wild goose bird denoting the 4th civil rank. Silver and gold thread couching and embroidery in blue on dark silk ground, the sun disk is made of small coral beads. Backed with blue silk. Condition: faded, wear, splits, thin areas, lining with stains. Dimension: 32.9 cm high x 33.9 cm wide.

Two length of orange figured silk with the design of one "hundred boys" at festival. Beautifully embroidered with polychrome silks and little gold thread couching. Bordered with a Chinese brocade, lined with light blue silk. Condition: clean, loose and missing threads ( especially blue yarn), faded, left and lower edges near brocade small areas with few splits. Dimension: 146.5 cm x 113.5 cm.
