Of flattened shield form with a recessed rectangular foot and a short mouth, the pale celadon jade is of even color throughout and carved on one side with a poem, and the other with an outdoor scene depicting pavilions in a water-scape.

18th to 19th Century, Ching Dynasty. A flask-shaped hard stone snuff bottle on a shallow foot, the underside concave, both the bottle and stopper of an unidentified pale bluish hard stone with a lively pattern of orange-red venation covering the surface giving a subtle flecked or speckled appearance with a hint of iridescence. Height: 6cm (2-3/8”) and weighing (44 grams) 1.6 ounces.
