The bottle of white porcelain with 'orange skin' texture is painted on each side with various colored enamels, gilt and iron red, one depicting an old man listening to a lady playing the liuqin, a four-stringed lute, and on the other side, a young man holding fan with a young lady kneeling down by a stream. Rare late Qing, circa Guangxu, snuff bottle with even peach bloom glaze and apocryphal Kangxi mark in unusual truncated shape. The stopper is new made with agate and an old silver spoon. There are a series of frits/chips on the outer edge of the mouthrim as noted in enlargements. H: 7.6cm/3in and D: 5.7m/2.5in.

A Chinese Green Glazed Porcelain Snuff Bottle. 19th.c.
Ht. 3 1/2 ins. (9 cms) This handsome bottle has a very finely crackled glaze with a brown rim. and a white jade stopper with ivory spoon. It is in very good condition with no repairs and no damage except for a slight slight surface scratch (see photos). The stopper is rough on the sides. It is part of a group from Christies, London

A Good Large Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Snuff Bottle. 19th.c.
Ht. 4 1/4 ins. (11.8 cms) This handsome bottle features a design of Dogs of Fo (Lion dogs), the traditional guardians of Buddhism, playing amongst conventional cloud scrolls. The stopper is ivory and stained ivory and the spoon is bone. It dates from the mid 19th. century but bears the reign mark of the Emperor Qianlong, in common with much 19th. century Chinese porcelain. Condition is excellent with no damage or repairs. It ...
