Tall Chinese wood sculpture carved in the form of a robed Buddhist acolyte standing in bare feet with his left hand holding a long fly whisk. A string of beads hangs from his right wrist and his right hand holds an object that appears to be a rolled sutra. Stands 14 3/4"H. Estimated to date from the late Qing to early 20th century.
