Details: A rare gilded 18th century Chinese repousse image of Sakyamuni Buddha. Buddha is depicted standing on an attractive and unusual quadruple lotus pedestal with an expression of blissful and compassionate wisdom. His right hand at his side in Varada Mudra and his left hand in Avakasha Mudra, held at chest level infront of the bunched hem of his long flowing and finely modelled robes. 18th or 19th century carved wooden Chinese Buddha in the Tibetan style with remains of pigment. The figure has suffered damage from wood worm in the past as can be seen in the pictures but they have long gone and the Buddha is quite stable.
The figure measures 6 inches in height.
