19th Century Beijing Glass Carved Snuff Bottle. Very simply carved with silver and copper neck, this was probably done as a repair and is old as well. The carving is very much in the style a Qing Dynasty Jade Carving. Condition: Some scratches and two small chips on the footrim entirely consistent with an old piece. Dimensions: 6.7cm/2.75in height.
A very simple and lovely Peking glass small vase made to simulate a pale celadon nephrite jade. As Peking glass makers experimented with their craft, they delighted in coming up with formulae that could simulate various minerals such as jade, hardstones, agates, etc. This is a classic simulation of nephrite jade with slight streakiness in the interior to replicate the natural striations in jade.
