What we have here is a round covered pot with two handles and a lid with what is unquestionably a pottery body – but it is covered with a gorgeous cardinal red glazed crackle material that appears to be glass. An elegant and simple small Peking footed glass bowl with flared ridge rim. The bowl measures 2 1/2" high and is 4 1/8" diameter at the top. The color is hard to describe - it is a rose-lavender-pink color that is quite soft and handsome. Because of the thickness of the glass and the base, we believe the bowl dates from the late 19th to very early 20th century. Excellent condition.
