‘Basse taille’ is a term given to the use of reflective silver foil beneath the surface of the translucent enamel. In this example engraved silver flowers, now tarnished, can also be seen on the surface. The box was made in Canton, now Guangzhou, where a good harbour at the mouth of the Pearl River ensured a safe haven for European traders.

There is three kind gold fish color, red, blue and black. Same design on the back of holder. The holder in good condition.
