Late Ching Dynasty (circa 1850-1900). This tall, unmarked, bold celadon vase, with its wide flaring trumpet-shaped mouth and inverted base, was intended for the display of long branches of winter prunus as indicated by the traditional flowering motif on both sides of its upper section. This is a small Country Ming pitcher that was probably used as an oil jar. This oil jar is from the transitional early to mid Ming period and is in the style known as kitchen Ming – or country Ming - for its lack of sophistication in execution and purity. Antique Chinese famille verte parrot standing on a round base with openings in the side and a large opening in the bottom. It is decorated with enameled green, black, auburn/brown and cream colors. The body of the parrot is bright emerald green with black eyes and rust-red beak. There is a hole in the back of the head to hold incense. On the chest is a black enamel spot painted under the glaze.

Antique Chinese famille verte “green” parrot. The parrot stands on a circular base with round openings. The enamel colors of the parrot are a vibrant emerald green, with a rust-red and black beak and black eyes, and there are rust-red and cream colors on the base. There is a hole in the back of the head to hold incense sticks. The parrot is very solid and heavier than more recent versions. There are original remnants on the base from having been attached to something.
