DESCRIPTION: An unusual celadon nephrite disc carved from a single stone, yet consisting of two separate interlocking discs, each independent of the other. Both sides are identically carved with the outer disc crafted of two interwoven bands in an “endless knot” design with eight perforations. This wraps around an inner ring of incised lines, also divided into eight sections by perpendicular bands.

DESCRIPTION: A Chinese white nephrite (jade) libation cup, carved in the form of a crouching phoenix with wings outstretched and spewing a lingzhi shaped puff of smoke from its nostrils. The body of the phoenix forms the cup / bowl and a twisting chilong (immature dragon) forms the opposing handle. This is an elegant old carving from the 18th/19th C. Chinese nephrite jade carvings set as the backing and handle of a hand mirror. The oblong pale celadon stone is carved and pierced with lotus and leaves and the handle with animal head.The mirror itself is decorated with multichrome enamel on silver filigree background. In excellent condition with no obvious faults, it is a gem of an item.Age: at least 1920's if not older.size; 6 inches (15cm) x 3 1/2 inches (9cm) at its widest.

This white jade wine cup is from the Chinese Ming dynasty. It is called chrysanthemum cup ("Ju Hua Bei" in Chinese) which was used on September 9 of Luna calender each year. It is a rare form with a pair of extra large flower handles. Originally large gem stones possibaly were mounted on the top of each handles.
