Gray pottery lid or finial to a Tang Dynasty jar in the shape of a pagoda’s top. Buddhism did not really arrive in China until the late Han (more or less) and did not make a significant impact on mainstream Chinese culture until the Tang (if you don’t count the non Han Wei Dynasties). A simple an attractive piece. H: 12cm/4.8in and H: 10cm/4in.

Very rare brown glass tube bead, circa 3rd BCE Late Warring States, the stratified raised “eyes” on this piece have worn off long ago. Absolutely of the period and would make an excellent study piece. Please note the reference photo in the last enlargement is from Early Chinese Glass by Simon Kwan.
