An antique Japanese Kyoto Mizuya Tansu in 2 sections made of Hinoki (Cypress) and Keyaki (Zelkova) woods. All original bronze hardware including the Warabite handles. Upper section features 4 sliding doors, a lift-out door, 2 sliding doors behind which is a removable shelf and 4 drawers.

The lower section features 2 sliding doors behind which jars of water were kept for cooking. Side support slats provide strength to the Tansu as well as architectural design.

Scooped out from pine tree blocks, actually once used as the grain containers of Korean everyday ware, early 20th century, D 21.5 x H 20cm (8.46 x 7.87in), D 18 x H 7.8cm (7.08 x 3.07in). Smoothly trimmed by chisel for the stability of each bottom. Aesthetically grain is coming out as well. Solid make, with some scratches, cracks, stians, etc. due to aging as is.

This is the earliest piece in our current exhibition highlighting the work of Masatomo Toi. A bit more aggressive and grungy than the growingly refined works he is creating today. We asked Toi for a “Tea Bowl” of his imagining and here we have this unique vision in frothy vivid colors studded with golden spikes. The red and white glazes seem puffed up, while the blue flows naturally between. The raw clay of the base too has been covered in liquefied gold. It is 13 cm diameter plus the thorns and in perfect condition. It comes with a signed wooden box titled Kin Hoshi Konsai Wan directly from the artist.

Gold gleams on the dragon shaped prow of this boat shaped object in the style of Kyoto’s Ninsei ware. The house on top is meant to be filled with ash and serves as an incense burner. A very rare and superb hand made genuine QING DYNASTY SILVER BOWL, with extensive open carving work and depicting the Dragons chasing the flaming Pearl. The base is stamped by a Chinese Hallmark: "SS, followed by a Chinese Character and 90, SUN SHING" as shown in one of the photographs, ca. 1900. Weight: 199 gr. excluding the inset glass bowl.
