This is a very attractive antique Japanese Cloisonne Vase. The colors are very bright and the subject matter is pleasing to the eye. The vase is not signed but we believe it was created by Ando or Gonda, several of the top makers in the late Meiji Era. It stands 9 3/4 inches tall and is in excellent condition.

The breast of the robe has a large, beautiful phoenix with cascading feathers in light pink, grey, gold, and off white, with pink forbidden stitching around its face. Beautiful carved white jade, with a small hole pierced through the top to be worn as a pendant. It has carved Chinese characters on either side within a raised oval border, etched spiral lines on its top and bottom, and serpent's heads along the jade's outer edges. A fine sterling silver sculpture of a Yatch in full sail featuring gold inlay bands on the sail. Titled "Yacth" by Japanese master artist Seki Takehiko, it is in excellent condition the sculpture measures 5.5" high. An extremely cute pair of ceramic sculptures of two young Chinese children peeking over a balcony. The pair of children appear to be fragments of an old roof tile, and each one is set upon a wooden stand. The modeling of the children is exceptional, especially the character in their faces. An antique Chinese Lingbi stone (scholar's rock or spirit stone) has a very distinct ring when it is struck. Scholar's rocks are appreciated for their unusual shapes, asymmetry, color and texture. Scholars refer to them as "bones of the earth". It is a carved blackish stone overhang with perforations. It set upon a contemporary Shuozhou style carved rosewood base with 4 rounded feet.

Smooth and serene Marble Shakyamuni Buddha subduing Mara. Robe and base are brown with some fine details and gilding. The head of the Buddha is covered with a multitude of small pointed hairlocks called "Shwebo-thorns" on top of which is the stupa shaped flame.
