A superbly rendered image of a golden-eyed monkey with prehensile tail curling upward in a fine mounting of golden striped brocade by Ota Issai. The scroll is 34 x 59 inches (86 x 150 cm) and is in excellent condition, completely remounted using quality materials without overpainting. A small Chinese porcelain vase delicately painted in fencai / famille rose enamels with a scene depicting two ladies on a river bank washing silk. The base carries an iron red four character Qianlong (1736 - 1795) reign mark but this vase was made later, in the early 20th Century, during the Republic period. Condition: excellent - no damages and no restoration. 12.5cm (5 inches) high.

Shigenobu (Hiroshige II) 1826-1869. The oban tate-e triptych depicts Minamoto no Yorimitsu, Sakata no Kintoki and Watanabe no Tsuna entering the mountain home of the demons. Circa 1851-1853. Shigenobu was a pupil of Ando Hiroshige and adopted his name to become the second generation after his master's passing in 1858. Condition of these prints are faded, wrinkles - some creased, margins trimmed and uneven, light wormage and pin holes, light foxing and soil. As challenged as the condition sounds...

The Hirado figure of a monkey with moveable head and tonge. Portrayed as a Shinto priest with the addition of a fan used in performing the Manzai dance during New Year's festivities. This is a very fine vintage Plique-a-Jour bowl. It is prolifically decorated with colorful hydrangea and butterflies. It is a petite bowl measuring 3 3/4 inches across and 2 inches tall. An uncommon piece in excellent condition.

A mask of a grimacing old man, carved of light wood, maybe hinoki, with gesso and polychrome pigments, inset with gray horse mane hair. The inside with brown lacquer and residue of two old paper labels. Condition: pigment and hair losses, old color mends. Dimension: 18 cm high x 14 cm wide.
