SOLD Antique Japanese 2-section isho tansu (chest on chest for clothing) made all of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top section has two large drawers and the bottom section has two large drawers and two small drawers on the lower right hand side. Iron hardware includes large round lock plates on the large drawers and matching small round lock plates on the small drawers.

The white porcelain dog is decorated with brown and blue spots on its body and brown highlights on his eyes, ears, and tail. Title: Totsuka Print size: Approximately 6.825 x 4.825 inches (17.4 x 11.8 cm). Dimensions without borders: 16.2 x 10.9 cm. Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo. Shotei seal at upper right. Date: Prior to the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, in which the original blocks were destroyed. This is the only known example. Reference: Authenticity confirmed and slated to be added to the Shotei catalog. Medium: Japanese woodblock print.
