Exceptionally fine and well cast bronze 18th Century Ganesha sculpture from Southern India with many details and a wonderful natural patina, clearly showing Puja (long term worship of object). Very good condition with one tine of trident missing from long ago (not recent loss). Superb specimen and rare because of it's size, i.e. H. 4.5" (11.6 cm.). Provenance: European Private Collection.

Bronze cylindrical handwarmer (shuro or te-aburi) with decoration of gourds plastically dangling from a band of low relief leaves and vines. The spokes in the shoulder and cover also in the shape of gourds. The flat part of the cover with fretwork in the shape of leaves and engraved vines. Playful combination of brown and yellow bronze. Incense burner in the shape of three eggplants growing from one stem. The eggplants are separated by three leaves. The cover is in the shape of three crowns coming out of the joint stem. Each eggplant engraved with a plant. Standing on three feet.

Four-armed sword wielding Virabhadra is a manifestation of Shiva. In this form, he decapitated the demigod Daksha who had insulted him, but in doing so, he interrupted the demigod's sacrifice by which all beings are created. Virabhadra later revived Daksha by replacing his head with that of a goat, thus ensuring the demigod survived and the continuance of creation. Mounted on Custom Iron Mount for presentation.

A silver inlayed bronze incense burner by Inami Keishu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 5-1/2 inches (14 cm) tall and in fine condition. Inami Keishu worked in metal for more than 60 years. He has been often exhibited and prized with the Nihon Kogei Kai (National Crafts Association) among many other National Events.

Gilded bronze Buddha with great age wear and patina. H. 32 cm. Condition: on the right corner there is a loop where a small bronze disciple was placed. The loop on the left side is missing; this must have happened a long time ago as the remains are hardly visible. There is an old collection label on the back.

Very rare bronze sculpture of Daiitoku, one of the five Myoo. He is represented with six heads (three large, three small), six legs and six arms that are holding the different attributes, while he is sitting on the back of a reclining long-horned buffalo. Here, Daiitoku holds his main hands clasped together. In the others he holds a staff, chakra, sword and trident.
