This is beautiful Japanese Ko Imari Porcelain plate with Dragon and Ho-O bird design intricately painted in deep cobalt blue. There is also the clouds and Ho-ju design. There is marking on the back of plate. The condition of plate excellent, no chip, no crack and no hairline. One little spot on the rim has thin blue paint as showing on the photo. The surface of blue and white glazing area painting has little raised finish. Dating from 1800-1830's...

Two full width drawers and sliding doors with horizontal slats that hide three small drawers on the right and a business books and records storage area on the left. Antique Japanese bronze shokudai (candle stick for a Buddhist shrine) in the form of a crane standing on a turtle's back. In it's beak, the crane holds a lotus stem with blossoms, buds and unfurling leaves. The different aspects of a lotus symbolize the stages of the Buddha's life. The crane and turtle together symbolize longevity as well as the opposites of Heaven and Earth. This shokudai has especially intricate details.
